What Spices Are IN Italian Seasoning Mix?

How Do You Make Italian Seasoning Mix?
The spices in this recipe need to be crushed together. The best way to do this is by measuring out all the ingredients into a food processor or a spice/coffee grinder. Pulse spices together until they are pretty finely ground. There you go… you just leaned how to make Italian seasoning! I’ll bet you didn’t even break into a sweat, either!
This recipe will yield a total of about 1/2 cup of Italian seasoning mix, which is about 8 Tablespoonfuls. Place the spices into a container with a lid, label it, and add it to your pantry! The spices should hold their peak flavor for up to 6 months or so. Use this mix anytime a recipe calls for Italian seasoning.

- 3 Tablespoons dried basil
- 3 Tablespoons dried parsley
- 2½ Tablespoons dried oregano
- 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Measure all ingredients into a food processor, or coffee grinder.
Pulse or grind until spices have become fairly finely ground. Remove, and transfer the mix to an airtight container with a lid. Label, and store in cool, dry and dark place. The spice mix should hold its peak flavor for up to 6 months.
